During the U19 World Cup earlier this year, when Canada faced a humiliating loss against a much stronger Indian side, Dravid interacted with the Canada players to motivate them.

Mamik Luthra, the Canada bowling all-rounder, shared his experience with the U19 Indian coach by saying, “He said ‘don’t get disheartened by any means’ and explained that his boys played cricket outdoors, that they trained all the time and that they didn’t do any other thing apart from cricket and because of all that, his boys were more match-fit, and that they were accustomed to pressures of a match.”

Canada's Mike Sharma added, "He said the Indian boys play all round the year. That's why they are better. He told our boys to take pride in the fact that they have qualified for this event after playing for just five months.”
