#4 Assam vs Goa (Assam won the match by 7 runs)

The Group C game between Assam and Goa turned out to be a nail-biter as the sides played terrific cricket.

Assam was restricted to 175 due to the heroics of Garg who picked up 5 wickets. Goa in reply took an 18 runs lead as they got bundled out for 193. The half centuries of Sinha and Das guided Assam to a total of 235 setting Goa a total of 217 to win.

Goa was in all sorts of trouble as they were reduced to 78 for 6 owing to the terrific bowling performance by Das and Mukhtar Hussain. The hopes of Goa went up as they made a surprising come back into the game with a 101 run partnership between Garg and Amit Verma for the 7th wicket. Verma departed on 74 with the score at 179 for 7. Garg carried on from the other end as he tried to seal a victory for the Goa team.

Goa was ultimately bundled out for 210 due to Arup Das’s spell of 6 for 67 which sealed the game for the Assam team. Das was ultimately declared the Man of the Match for his 9 wickets in the game.
