One of his big hits registered 110 meters, which turned out to be the third longest six in IPL 2012.

His scoop six off Dale Steyn's bowling is one of the greatest shots ever played IPL. In a league game against Sunrisers Hyderabad during IPL 2016, de Villiers smashed a six that traveled 111 meters. He finished the season with 687 runs in 16 innings.
