He has scored a lot of runs in IPL and struck 186 sixes, which is second highest tally by a player in IPL history. In a game against MS Dhoni's Chennai Super Kings during IPL 2018, AB de Villiers hit Imran Tahir for a humongous 111 meters long six over mid-wicket at the Chinnaswamy stadium.

In a game against the now-defunct Pune Warriors India during IPL 2012, Gayle hit one into the crowd, which registered 111 meters. It was the second biggest six in IPL 2012.
