The 11th season of the IPL has turned out to be the most entertaining one since the inception of the tournament in 2008. After six weeks of enthralling action, the league stage has finally got over with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals making it to the playoffs.
Three of the 4 bottom-ranked teams were alive in the tournament until the last two days of the tournament but unfortunately, none of them could make it to the playoffs. The playoff matches are slated to happen this week with the final on Sunday. Here are the 4 qualifying teams ranked on the basis of winning percentage in the playoffs:
#4 Chennai Super Kings (58.82%)
Chennai Super Kings has been the most dominating team in the IPL over the years. The team has surprisingly never failed to qualify for the playoffs. It is the 9th time that they are contesting in the playoffs.

#3 Rajasthan Royals (60.00%)
Rajasthan Royals, the winners from the inaugural season, have been one of the most unpredictable teams of the tournament. The team has never relied on star power and has shown confidence in young players over the years.
After putting on an impressive show in the inaugural season, the teams' performance deteriorated in the next few seasons and later they got trapped in the infamous fixing scandal.
The team didn't participate in the last two seasons following a two-year ban and returned to the league this season making a strong statement. Although two of their costliest buys, Ben Stokes and Jaydev Unadkat failed to deliver, the team qualified for the playoffs on the back of impressive performances by younger players.
Rajasthan Royals played their only IPL final in 2008 and beat Chennai Super Kings to become the first team to win the title. Overall in the IPL, the team has played in 5 playoff matches of which they have won 3 thus making winning percentage of 60.00%.
#2 Sunrisers Hyderabad (60.00%)
Sunrisers Hyderabad is the only team in the list who is not among the founding teams of the tournament. The team came as a replacement for now defunct Deccan Chargers and made its debut in the 2013 season.
The team has one of the toughest bowling attacks in the tournament this year. They have finished on the top of the table and are the favorites to win the title this year. They have qualified for the playoffs in the 4 of the 6 years that they have been part of the IPL. They qualified in 2013, 2016, 2017 and 2018 seasons respectively.
Sunrisers Hyderabad played their only IPL final in the 2016 season and emerged as the winners. Overall in the IPL, they have played in 5 playoff matches of which they have won 3 thus making a winning percentage of 60.00%.
