The salary of Sunil Narine raised the average salary per player of KKR to be the highest in the industry.

Interestingly, the team with the least number of players is the most expensive team in the IPL 2019. KKR only have a squad size of 21 players for the 2019 edition of the IPL, and the total salary paid by the team comes to Rs.75.95 crore making them the team that pays most salary per player.

The highest paid player in the squad is the West Indian spinner Sunil Narine who is paid Rs.12.50 crore while Australian opener Chris Lynn is paid Rs.9.6 crore. Only 5 players are bought at the lowest price tag of Rs.20 lakh and the average salary of the 21 players in the squad comes to around Rs.3.62 crore which is the highest in the industry.

KKR has pursued the idea of a shorter group of quality players rather than trying to fill all the 25 seats available for the team. It is because of the shorter squad that their average salary has become the highest as when looking at from the total salary cost perspective, they are the 3rd team to have spent the least amount of salary money (Rs.75.95 crore) in IPL 2019. But when ranking the teams based on the average salary of the players in IPL 2019, Kolkata Knight Riders is number one on the list.
