The Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 concluded with Australia winning the fifth Test in Sydney by six wickets. As a result, they also won the series 3-1 and regained the BGT.
While the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Pat Cummins, and Scott Boland dominated with the ball, there were many equally impressive batting performances throughout the series.
Travis Head finished the BGT 2024-25 as the leading run-scorer with 448 runs. Indian opener Yashasvi Jaiswal finished second with 391 runs, while Steve Smith (314), Nitish Kumar Reddy (298), and KL Rahul (276) were also among the runs.

#5 Rishabh Pant - 61 (33), 5th Test
While there were many batters with higher individual scores than Rishabh Pant's 61, his quickfire half-century in the fifth BGT 2024-25 Test stands out. In the second innings, the left-hander took the attack to the Australians.
Pant got going right from the word go, playing his natural game that fascinates one and all. He smashed 61 runs off just 33 deliveries at a strike rate of 184.84. His whirlwind innings comprised six boundaries and 4 maximums. The wicketkeeper-batter's sensational knock was the only positive for India in an otherwise disappointing second innings.
#4 Steve Smith - 101 (190), 3rd Test
Australian batter Steve Smith scored two hundreds in the BGT 2024-25 series. While his 140-run knock was his highest score, his century in the third Test in Brisbane was more crucial.
Australia were three down for 75 runs in the first innings as Smith joined hands with Travis Head in a record partnership to help the visitors stage a comeback. Smith took his time but slammed a vital ton (101) off 190 deliveries, including 12 fours. Eventually, Australia finished the first innings with a solid 445-run total.
#3 Travis Head - 140 (141), 2nd Test
Travis Head was exceptional with the bat for Australia in the BGT 2024-25 series. Head also scored a couple of hundreds in the series. His highest score of 152 came in the Brisbane Test.
However, his century during the second Test in Adelaide came in a match-winning cause for the hosts. After bowling India out for 180 in the first innings, Australia needed to ensure they scored big to continue dominating the game. Courtesy of Head's 140 off 141 balls, which included 17 fours and four sixes, they posted a total of 337 runs on the board.
#2 Nitish Kumar Reddy - 114 (189), 4th Test
Young Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, playing his debut series in Australia, impressed with his batting abilities. His best and most memorable display came in the fourth Test in Melbourne, where he recorded his maiden Test hundred for India.
The visitors had lost seven wickets for 221 runs in the first innings. Along with Washington Sundar, Nitish Reddy helped them recover and post a 369-run total eventually. Reddy stood tall, top-scoring with 114 runs off 189 deliveries. He smashed 11 fours and a six en route to his first Test hundred at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, making it all the more special.
#1 Yashasvi Jaiswal - 161 (297), 1st Test
Yashasvi Jaiswal was among the few top performers from India throughout the BGT 2024-25 series. He ended as India's highest run-getter as well, amassing 391 runs.
The left-handed opener began the series with a bang, playing a scintillating knock in the first Test in Perth. After being bowled for a duck in the first innings, Jaiswal scripted a magnificent comeback, scoring a match-winning century. He slammed 161 runs off 297 deliveries, hitting 15 fours and 3 sixes as well. India went on to win the game by a massive 295-run margin eventually.
