The franchise changed its jersey color from red and gold to red and black and also changed its roster by releasing Dinesh Karthik and buying Shane Watson in the auction.
The team owners were also changed due to some financial issues as RCB franchise got completely revamped in the year 2016.

The final was played at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium but RCB failed to take the home advantage as they lost the final by a close margin of eight runs.
Virat Kohli and his men made a thumping comeback in the season to reach the final but once again failed to lift the trophy despite reaching very close.
