Before this IPL started, many felt that Shane Watson's stocks as a cricketer weren't as high as in some of the previous seasons, that the body, ravaged by so many injuries was finally starting to give in.

But the former Australian all-rounder has proved all his detractors wrong with an all-round effort that has seen make 328 runs in 10 matches as well as pick up six wickets with the ball.

He lends good balance for the side, who would hope from him to keep this form intact for the remainder of the competition.
