India won the Test series and tied the ODI series. Sachin Tendulkar with 307 runs and Anil Kumble with 19 wickets ensured the series victory for England. Marcus Trescothick and Matthew Hoggard were England’s top run scorer and wicket taker in the series.
The ODI series was hard-fought. Trescothick was the top run-getter with 318 runs while Harbhajan Singh was the top wicket-taker. Sourav Ganguly, Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar also scored above 200 runs to signify India’s dominance.

Engalnd tied the Test series, but fell flat on their faces in the ODI series. Spinners ensured that England won the last Test match at Mumbai after India crushed them at Mohali by 9 wickets. Rahul Dravid was the highest run-scorer with 309 runs while Anil Kumble turned out as the highest-wicket taker. Paul Collingwood and Andrew Flintoff with 272 and 264 runs respectively played handsomely for England.
The ODI series was shambolic for England from the results point of view, but inspite of that there were some bright spots. Kevin Pietersen amassed 291 at 58.20 with 3 half centuries. Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh ended with 242 and 237 runs respectively. Harbhajan Singh was the top wicket taker with 12 wickets.
