India had just returned from a horrendous tour of England after getting beaten in the ODI and Test series. It was imperative for India to stage a comeback and they did it with a vengeance, whitewashing the English by 5-0. Every win was comprehensive from India’s perspective.
Virat Kohli ended up with 270 runs in the series at 90.00. Ravindra Jadeja with 11 wickets ended up with 11 wickets series. For England, Jonathan Trott was the sole player to cross 200 runs while Steven Finn got 5 wickets in the series.

England, after losing the first Test in Ahmedabad, came back strongly to clinch the next two Test matches. As a result, they won the Test series 2-1. Alistair Cook notched up 562 runs perching as the top run-scorer of the series. Cheteshwar Pujara, with a highest score of 206, was India’s top getter with 438 runs. Graeme Swann and Pragyan Ojha were the top wicket takers with 20 wickets each.
India clinched the ODI series 3-2. Suresh Raina was the top run-getter with 277 runs while James Tredwell, with 11 wickets, was the top wicket-taker.
The T20 series was drawn. Eoin Morgan hit a last ball six of Ashok Dinda to level the series for England.
