The 2008 edition of the IPL unearthed another left-arm fast bowling talent from Pakistan, Sohail Tanvir. The tall left-arm slinger, Tanvir, was a standout performer who played a pivotal role in Rajasthan Royals season clinching feat.

Tanvir, who won the purple cap in the inaugural season, testified his talent to the hilt when he knocked over the Chennai Super Kings with a barely believable spell of 6-14. It was Tanvir's spell that helped Rajasthan Royals to bowl CSK out for a mere 109, and his 6-14 in 4 overs still remains the best bowling performance in the IPL.

Only one bowler till date has equaled Tanvir's record of claiming a 6-wicket haul in an IPL match- Adam Zampa for the Rising Pune Supergiants in 2016 edition, where the leggie claimed 6-19 against the eventual champions Sunrisers Hyderabad.
