Respect all styles of football - Written in a different style

Note: The author wants to stress on the importance of different styles in any game and the equal respect each one commands. Thats why he is writing this article also in a different style. All pronounciations,spellings and bad language is intentional. Please excuse.

Tchya, Chelsea beat Barcelona. This is bad for football everyone is saying.Why? Because Chelsea is all negative and all. Meaning Barcelona’s football is football and Chelsea’s football is sex?Eh. Wrong dialogue. Let me start again.

So even you think like that, is it? Because Chelsea is playing boring football. No paisa vasool. We want to see only players touching ball just once and running in front to touch the ball one more time. Not simply kicking ball anywhere like Chelsea. Chelsea fans are saying-‘ What this Barcelona is playing? This is football, not passing the parcel.’ Barcelona fans are saying ‘ Chelsea plays like that big bus on the road which doesn’t move to the side no matter how much you honk.’ Both have genuine arguments on which style is better. Most of us will think Barcelona.

But Chelsea won in the end no? How that’s possible? When I was thinking of this, that time only someone put the TV on. And my grandfather started talking about how test matches were better than IPL. That time I shifted my thinking little bit. I thought why people like test cricket. I mean, IPL has more sixers no?Girls are dancing . And SRK is also coming to watch sometimes. Then why people want to watch Test and waste whole day, not working in office and telling someone to check score. Might as well come home and watch the game along with dinner. Players also get paid well and dont have to play in hot sun. Some people like that that. But that does not mean all people are like that.

Main thing is it is a different style of playing. And the fun is in enjoying all the types. You cannot compare one against the other. In the first season of IPL, VVS Laxman was the captain of Deccan Chargers but he wasn’t that good in playing at all. Why? Because that’s not his style. But who is complaining when he is the only one who plays good in Australia. No one is telling him to adapt to this game. They respect his decisions.

Same way when Pollard,Sharma or Pathan plays in IPL, people love them and almost forget that we were going in comments section of cricket articles and saying bad things about them.

Like that only, when Chelsea is playing, it is adjusting to different tactics. They know they cant beat Barcelona at their own game. So they play something different that Barcelona cant play. Like Aerial threats,set pieces and the long ball games. Can Barcelona play like that? Of course they can, but Chelsea is better in those aspects.

Take BPL for example. There is a team West Bromwich Albion and Bolton Wanderers. WBA plays really good football. People love to see that kind of game because it’s the one you instantly fall in love with. But they get relegated every two years. Bolton on the other hand play more physical. They play very rough. But it is a style of play. And because its working well, they have not yet been relegated from BPL.

Take example of Stoke City. Who has even heard of people going for headers when someone is throwing in the ball. That is for corners no? Tchya, go and watch Roy Delap and see the way he throws. In Stoke City’s recent season, opposition never knew only what was going on. But now they are slowly learning to deal with it.

And it is not that teams always play like this. If Chelsea was so negetive then how they won 4-1 against Napoli? When Inter Milan managed to defeat Barcelona, that time people are saying sad day for football and all. Arey! They beat you 3-1 in their home game and in next match are defending with lesser players than you. On top of that, instead of patting them on the back you are saying this. Tchya.

Now Chelsea has also learnt how to deal with Barcelona’s way of playing. But cant say.Barcelona could exploit Chelsea because Camp Nou has better width and chelsea’s full backs are vulnerable. And that’s the fun.When people play any style they want to and still be effective enough to win the game. Messi may be able to run and dodge four five defenders but even Drogba can chest and head the ball even though the ball comes from so much height. Xavi may be good at one touch passes but the long balls from Lampard are not that bad either. Its just a different style of play. And its in this kind of games only where football is the real winner.
