The 2011 final was the second consecutive final for CSK, while the second appearance in the final for RCB. This one was expected to be a thrilling one but failed to live up to the expectations as CSK won their second IPL title in a row with a comprehensive victory of 58 runs.

Most of the work for the Super Kings was done by their openers Hussey and Murali Vijay, as both posted a half century to help the side in registering a 200+ total.

In response, a side featuring the likes of Gayle, Kohli and De Villiers was expected to do a lot better. Ashwin and Jakati were the only two to have done something amazing with the ball in the game which is otherwise remembered for batting successes and failures.
