Rohit Sharma enjoyed his third double century in style

Stand-in skipper Rohit Sharma rose to the occasion when it mattered the most. He scored his record-breaking third double ton to guide India to a series-levelling 141-run victory in the second ODI.

It was an innings of two-halves for the stylish batsman. The first 100 runs came in 115 balls while the next 100 took only 36 balls.

In an astonishing display of power hitting, the elegant batsman hit six sixes and 13 fours. In the 43rd over of the first innings, he hit four sixes in four legal deliveries in an over which went for 26 runs.

Riding on the skipper’s third double ton, India posted a mammoth 392 for four. In reply, Sri Lanka could only make 251.
