Rohit Sharma has an impressive batting record against Pakistan in all formats of the game ever since he played his first game against them in 2007. He made his debut for India in June 2007 and got the chance to face their arch-rivals less than three months later in September 2007. The game ended in India’s favour with Sharma’s knock of 30* playing a key role in that.
Things only picked up after that although the now 36-year-old has been rather inconsistent against Pakistan over the years. Sharma has faced Pakistan in 27 matches (played 26) across all formats, scoring 2 centuries and six fifties along the way.
Not only that, his highest of 140 came after his former highest of 111* with him hitting just under 400 runs across five games in a two-year span against Pakistan. It was his best run of form against India’s arch-rivals even if it did include his second duck as well. In his encounters against Pakistan, Sharma has amassed a total of 834 runs with an average of 37.96.
