Rohit Sharma’s performance in the Asia Cup is truly remarkable as across 22 matches in both ODI and T20I formats, he has thrived in the tournament. That includes 745 runs in ODIs, boasting an average of 48.69 while in the T20I format, Sharma has scored 271 runs in nine matches. But despite facing Pakistan only ten times in the Asia Cup, spanning T20Is and ODIs, Sharma’s prowess against this fierce rival remains evident.

He has managed to score 367 runs across seven ODIs and 40 runs across three T20Is against Pakistan. Highlighting his prowess, the most iconic of these innings is his memorable 111* in 2018 although Sharma has an incredible batting average of 73.40 in ODIs in the Asia Cup against Pakistan. That drops in T20s to 13.33 although India did win two out of the three games played.

Rohit Sharma has an impressive batting record against Pakistan in all formats of the game ever since he played his first game against them in 2007. He made his debut for India in June 2007 and got the chance to face their arch-rivals less than three months later in September 2007. The game ended in India’s favour with Sharma’s knock of 30* playing a key role in that.

Things only picked up after that although the now 36-year-old has been rather inconsistent against Pakistan over the years. Sharma has faced Pakistan in 27 matches (played 26) across all formats, scoring 2 centuries and six fifties along the way.

Not only that, his highest of 140 came after his former highest of 111* with him hitting just under 400 runs across five games in a two-year span against Pakistan. It was his best run of form against India’s arch-rivals even if it did include his second duck as well. In his encounters against Pakistan, Sharma has amassed a total of 834 runs with an average of 37.96.

While Rohit Sharma has struggled to prove his against Pakistan in T20s, he has consistently proven his dominance against Pakistan in ODIs, registering two centuries against them. The first of the lot materialized on 23rd September 2018, during the Asia Cup in Dubai.

Opening the innings alongside Shikar Dhawan (114), Sharma’s stroke play propelled him to a dazzling 111* off 119 deliveries, adorned with 7 fours and 4 sixes. His innings ensured that India chased down Pakistan's 237-run target with absolute ease to beat them in the Asia Cup.

His second century emerged in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup as Sharma’s 140 off 113 deliveries, after Pakistan chose to field first, made him the anchor as India set a target of 336. Rain forced a delay but Pakistan still struggled to chase down their new target of 302 in 40 overs, losing by 89 runs.

Renowned for his prolific batting, Rohit Sharma has etched remarkable performances against Pakistan in ODIs and the Asia Cup. One standout display was his majestic 140 during the 2019 World Cup clash, where Sharma's exquisite batting steered India to triumph.

Notably, his 111-run gem in a 2018 Asia Cup against Pakistan underscored his capacity to thrive under pressure as India chased down 238. Sharma's impact also resonated in the ICC Champions Trophy of 2017, where his vital 91 runs played a defining role in India's 319 target and win.

Moving further back, in 2012, while not as awe-inspiring as the others, his crucial 68-run contribution against Pakistan in the Asia Cup was the perfect foil for Virat Kohli (183). Another feather in his cap is the 52 runs he amassed in 2018, which created the perfect base for India as they chased down a paltry target of 163 in the Asia Cup.
