Perhaps the most important innings of Rohit Sharma's career came against England at Mohali in 2012. Having struggled to find a permanent spot in the middle order that had the likes of Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli, Rohit was pushed to the opening slot by captain MS Dhoni.

The move turned out to be a masterstroke as Rohit’s 83 run knock helped India chase down a target of 258 on a lively Mohali track and seal the five-match ODI series against England. He was ably supported by Man of the Match Suresh Raina who scored an unbeaten 89 to take India home.
