However, in the quarter-finals (QF) against Bangladesh at the iconic MCG, the Hitman rose to the occasion once again. He smashed a stylish 137 to take India beyond the 300 run mark which proved to be a match-winning score.
India won the match by a huge margin and booked a spot in the semi-final where they lost to eventual winners Australia. Rohit was the Man of the Match.
