Ruturaj Dashrat Gaikwad is a professional cricketer born on January 31, 1997, in Pune, Maharashtra. Gaikwad is a right-handed batter slotted in the top order and can bowl right-arm off-break. He represents the Indian men’s cricket team across the limited-overs formats in international cricket.

Gaikwad is the skipper of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has taken over the reins of the decorated franchise from its legendary captain, MS Dhoni.

As per reports from India Today, an Indian cricketer who has been drawn into the Grade C contract earns INR 1 crore. Additionally, a total of INR 6 lakhs and INR 3 lakhs is paid as match fee for ODIs and T20Is respectively.

The Chennai Super Kings signed Ruturaj Gaikwad for his base price of INR 20 lakhs at the IPL 2018 auction. After being retained for a couple of more seasons, Gaikwad was retained by the Super Kings for a solid price of INR 6 crores ahead of the deadline for the IPL 2022 mega auction.
