Sachin Tendulkar hits Delhi Daredevils for a SIXX!

Sachin Tendulkar was at his fiery best as MI blasted Delhi Daredevils in one of the most comprehensive victories seen in a T20 match. His 31 ball 63, ably supported by handsome contributions from a brilliant Saurabh Tiwary and an equally capable Ambati Rayudu, saw MI post 218, the highest score ever in a IPL match. This was MI’s second consecutive score of 200+ in as many matches. The match also saw Keiron Pollard make his IPL debut. But he did not get sufficient strike to display his skills with the willow.

Delhi started their chase without their captain Gautam Gambhir who was away from action with a hamstring injury right after the first over of the game. DD began their chase as always – aggressively. Zaheer and Malinga were plundered for plenty in the first couple of overs. But Dilshan and Sehwag could not keep the momentum going as the ever rising required run-rate kept mounting up the pressure. Maharoof did try to salvage some pride but in the end his team went down by 98 runs. That opens up the points table a bit as Delhi have lost their first match after two victories and are now at third place. MI stay unbeaten after 2 matches and top the table with an envious NRR and KKR are now in second position.
