Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar is set to play an important role in the promotion of the upcoming 2015 Cricket World Cup. Tendulkar is the highest run scorer in the history of cricket. He is considered to be the greatest batsman ever by many fans and experts. He is one of the most popular figures in India and has been a role model for many years.
Although the World Cup hardly needs promotion in India, but still Tendulkar’s presence will definitely boost the profile of the tournament.

Tournament CEO John Harnden said, “He (Tendulkar) has been a fantastic supporter of the World Cup. It is too early to say anything about his involvement, but I am sure he will play some sort of a role in lead—up to the tournament. We will have to wait and see. As we get closer to the tour tournament, more announcements will be made. The strategy is to use a lot of World Cup heroes. There are a whole range of players who have already helped us and will be helping us in the future as well. A more specific campaign is planned from November.”
The tournament will be held in Australia and New Zealand between Feb 14-March 29 2015.
