Sachin Tendulkar sends out cryptic tweet hinting possible comeback; could the unthinkable happen?

Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar has sent his Twitter followers into a frenzy following a cryptic tweet that has led to speculation about the 41-year-old making a possible comeback for Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The tweet has a picture of Tendulkar donning the MI jersey and putting on the batting helmet, implicitly indicating that he is getting ready to take the field once again.

Earlier today, Tendulkar tweeted:

Tendulkar retired from all formats of the game in 2013 after an illustrious career that saw him amass over 30,000 international runs and is currently working as a mentor for the Mumbai Indians in the lucrative T20 league. He played 6 seasons in the IPL for the Mukesh Ambani-owned franchise, scoring 2334 runs from 78 matches at an average of 34.83.

However, a comeback is extremely unlikely and Tendulkar’s tweet could well be just a publicity gimmick for a particular brand. One can only hope that there is some clarity regarding what the tweet is about as quickly as possible.
