Graham Gooch, celebrating his 60th Birthday on 23rd July 2013, is one of the finest batsman England ever produced. He made his Test debut in 1975 went on to become a legend in all formats of the game. He played international cricket till age of 41

# Gooch is the leading run getter for England in Tests with 8900 runs. (He was dismissed for a pair on test debut). He overcame David Gower’s 8231.

# Other than Gooch no batsman has managed even 6000 Test Runs after being dismissed for a Pair on Test Debut. Marvan Atapattu scored 5502 and Saeed Anwar scored 4052 after getting a pair on test debut.

# Gooch was the only player to score a Triple Century in Tests at Lord’s. He scored 333 vs India in 1990.

# Gooch was the first player to score a Triple Century in Tests against India.

# Gooch holds the record for most runs in a Test Match. He scored 456 runs (333 & 123) vs India at Lord’s in 1990. He overcame Greg Chappell’s 380 (247* & 133) vs NZ at Wellington in 1974.

# Gooch is the only England player to aggregate over 2000 runs on a single ground. He scored 2015 runs at Lord’s.

# Gooch along with Michael Vaughan are the only England players to score 6 Test 100s on any single ground. Both did it at Lord’s.
