SK Flashback: 5 memorable moments from India's win at Lahore in 2004

Kaif scored 71 in the chase for India

Kaif and Dravid shred the bowling to pieces, seal an Indian win

Jubilant Indian fans after their team won the fourth ODI to level the series

Kaif and Dravid. Two batsmen who had similar batting styles in ODI cricket and weren’t renowned for their big hitting, but on this day, they took on the Pakistan bowlers like they were having a net session. Boundaries, singles and twos flowed with alarming regularity for Pakistan’s liking, and before anyone could realise it, India had closed in on the target.

Inzamam tried all he could, changing his bowlers often and trying as many as six bowlers to try and dislodge the rampaging Indian pair, but nothing worked for him. In the end, Dravid remained unbeaten on 76 off 92 deliveries with 9 fours, and Kaif scored 71 off only 77 deliveries with 8 hits to the fence.

The daunting target of 294 was achieved by India in just 45 overs with 5 wickets in hand, and the one-day series was levelled at 2-2 with the decider to be played at Lahore again on March 24.

The ease with which the patient pair of Dravid and Kaif sealed the chase was pleasantly surprising for fans who were more used to seeing slow but steady innings from these two as opposed to ones wherein they dominate the bowling. Pakistan lost the match but their skipper Inzamam, for his superlative hundred earlier in the day, was named the Man of the Match.
