#3 Hardik Pandya's horror shot

With India in strife at 65/5, Hardik Pandya walked out, taking confident upbeat strides. He has so often been India's saviour in such situations of late, most recently at Cape Town in the first Test where his counter-attacking 93 lent respectability to India's first innings total.
South Africa had an orthodox field for Pandya's unorthodox technique and shot-making and stuck to bowling outside the off-stump channel, giving little room for him to free his arms. To his credit, Pandya was patient and defended calmly.
But the battle didn't last long as Lungi Ngidi dragged a short ball very wide of off-stump only for Pandya to throw his bat at it and edge behind to de Kock. If ever there was a horror Test shot, this was one.
