Special edition Sachin Tendulkar coins to be launched on Friday

Valuemart Gold & Jewels and Diamond India are set to launch special edition Sachin Tendulkar silver coins which will have the Indian batting maestro’s name, signature and face embossed on them.

Valuemart have decided to launch 15,921 coins with the figure representing the number of runs that the Little Master made in Test cricket during his illustrious 24-year international career which came to an end in November 2013.

The coins would have the legend’s name on the top and his face engraved on the coin. The words “200th Test match-2013″ will be written below the face along with an ‘ST’ logo according to reports.

Switzerland-based precious metal refiner Valcambi SA have crafted the coins which are minted in 200gm silver.

Valuemart Gold & Jewels had launched 1 lakh Tendulkar gold coins last year, each weighing 10 grams, but no information with regards to how many of these were bought by the public is available.

The new coins will be launched in Mumbai on March 14th in the presence of Tendulkar himself.
