The Sri Lankan Women's cricket selection committee announced a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Women's T20 World Cup.
The squad will be led by their talismanic batter, Chamari Athpaththu, and it boasts of several experienced campaigners in the form of Inoka Ranaweera, Oshadi Ranasinghe, Nilakshi de Silva, who will hold the key for the islanders in the upcoming event.
Sri Lanka Women are clubbed alongside defending champions, Australia, fellow Asian neighbours in the form of Bangladesh, the White Ferns' and hosts, SouthAfricana women.
SL-W will kickstart their campaign against hosts South Africa in Newlands, Cape Town, on February 10th, before they take on Bangladesh Women, two days later.
Their next encounter will be against the mighty Australians on February 16th at St George's Park in Port Elizabeth. Lanka's final Group match- vs New Zealand Women- will take place on 19th February in Paarl.
