For the second time in as many seasons, the record for the biggest win in IPL history has been broken. Last year, Royal Challengers Bangalore claimed the record by beating Gujarat Lions but Mumbai Indians have now dethroned them and sit at the top of this list, courtesy of their 146-run win over Delhi Daredevils on Saturday (May 6).
This was only the seventh time that a side has managed to win an IPL game by more than 100 runs (first time in IPL 2017) and is also MI’s biggest win in the tournament’s history beating the previous record of 98, which was also against Delhi Daredevils, at Delhi, in 2010.
After being put into bat by DD captain Zaheer Khan, the visitors got off to the perfect start as the openers put on a fifty partnership for the opening wicket. Although they lost Parthiv Patel and Rohit Sharma in quick succession, fifties from Lendl Simmons and Kieron Pollard along with a cameo from Hardik Pandya helped MI post 212/3.
In response, DD, who chased a 200+ total in their last game, just didn’t get going. Only three players got into double digits. Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant, architects of their win in the last game both got out for ducks as Delhi were bundled out for just 66 in 13.4 overs.

DD, who made it onto this list earlier in the tournament, courtesy of their 97-run win over RPS now hold the unwanted record of being the only team in the top ten to feature thrice at the receiving end.
