It was advantage Australia at the end of day one of the first Day-Night Test as the hosts bundled New Zealand out for 202, before ending the day 148 runs behind with eight wickets in hand.

The Kiwis, who won the toss and chose to bat, lost wickets at regular intervals to concede the advantage back to the hosts. Although they removed both openers before the end of the day, their low total means they will have to be on their game on day two, if they are to ensure that they don’t concede a lead.
