Comilla Victorians emerged as the champions of the Bangladesh Premier League’s season 3 after they successfully chased down the target set by Barisal Bulls, in a heart breaking final, in which Comilla Victorians player Alok Kapali was named as Man of the Match. Ashar Zaidi was chosen as the Player of the tournament for his all-round performance.
Here are some of the statistical highlights of Bangladesh Premier League’s third season.
22 – Number of Wickets taken by Kevon Cooper in BPL -3 while playing for Barisal Bulls which was most by any bowler when compared to other bowlers.
12 – Number of Sixes hit by Chris Gayle which is highest among other batsmen. He scored 139 runs in the 4 matches that he played for Barisal Bulls at a strike rate of 163.52.
9 – Number of Sixes hit by Chris Gayle in a single innings of a match which is highest no.of sixes hit by a batsman when compared to others in a single innings.
53.75 – Ashar Zaidi’s Average in this year’s BPL – best among other batsmen who have played at least 6 innings in this season. He scored 253 runs in 11 matches that he played for Comilla Victorians.
163.63 – R Emrit’s Strike Rate in this year’s BPL – best among other batsmen who have played at least 40 balls in this season. He scored 72 runs by playing 44 balls in 6 matches that he played for Barisal Bulls.
3 – Number of Fifties scored by Tamim Iqbal in this years’s BPL which is most compared to other batsmen. He scored 298 runs in 9 matches with 3 fifties that he played for Chittagong Vikings.
3 – Number of Times Imrul Kayes out on duck which is most compared to other batsmen. He had these 3 ducks in 12 matches that he played for Comilla Victorians.
266.66 – Ashar Zaidi’s Strike Rate in an innings of a match which is best among other batsmen who have at least played 15 balls in an innings of a match. He had this strike rate of 266.66 against Rangpur Riders. In this innings, he scored 40* runs in 15 balls by hitting four 4s and two 6s.

23 – Number of Extras conceded by Rangpur Riders against Dhaka Dynamites on 6 December, 2015 at Dhaka which was the most no.of extras conceded by any team in an innings of a match against any other team in this year’s BPL. In that innings out of 23 extras, 15 came from leg-byes and remaining from wides.
10 – Number of Catches taken by Thisara Perera in 12 matches that he played for Rangpur Riders which was most by any player in this year’s BPL. However, Mahmudullah had also grabbed 10 catches in 13 matches that he played for Barisal Bulls.
140* – runs gathered by Tamim Iqbal and T Dilshan in a match against Sylhet Super Stars while playing for Chittagong Vikings on 2nd December, 2015 at Chittagong which was the highest stand in this year’s BPL for any wicket.
4.78 – Economy Rate at which Comilla Victorians’ Ashar Zaidi had given in his runs – best among other bowlers who had bowled at least 20 overs in this year’s BPL. Ashar Zaidi bowled 37 overs for Comilla Victorians and took 17 wickets in 11 matches.
9.5 – Strike Rate at which Kevon Cooper of Barisal Bulls had taken his wickets – best among other bowlers who had at least 20 overs in this year’s BPL. He had taken 22 wickets in 9 matches at a strike rate of 9.5.
13 – Number of Dismissals Kumar Sangakkara had in this year’s BPL – best among other wicket-keepers. He had 13 dismissals in 10 matches while playing for Dhaka Dynamites and out of 13 dismissals, 6 of them were stumpings and 7 of them were catches.
35 – Number of fours hit by Kumar Sangakkara in this year’s BPL which was most when compared to other batsmen. He had hit 35 fours in 10 matches while playing for Dhaka Dynamites.
1.25 – Economy rate at which Shahid Afridi had completed his quota of four overs in a match against Barisal Bulls while playing for Sylhet Super Stars on 6 December, 2015 at Dhaka, which was the best economy rate of a bowler who had completed his quota of four overs in an innings of a match. In this innings he had given only five runs by picking ip two wickets with one maiden.
54 – Runs given by Dilshan Munaweera in his four overs against Chittagong Vikings while playing for Sylhet Super Stars on 23rd November, 2015 at Dhaka which was highest runs given by a bowler in an innings of a match in this year’s BPL.
72 – Amount of Margin in terms of runs Comilla Victorians had beaten Rangpur Riders on 12th December, 2015 which was largest victory of any team in terms of runs in this year’s BPL.
298 – Number of Balls faced by Kumar Sangakkara in this year’s BPL which was most by a batsman when compared to other batsmen. He had faced 298 balls in 10 matches that he played for Dhaka Dynamites.
349 – Runs scored by Kumar Sangakkara while playing for Dhaka Dynamites in 10 matches which was most among other batsmen in this year’s BPL. He had scored this runs at an average of 38.77 and strike rate of 117.11.
