Stats: Mahela Jayawardene becomes first Sri Lankan to reach 11000 Test runs

Mahela Jayawardene became the first Sri Lankan to reach 11000 runs in Test cricket. He reached this landmark when he swept the Pakistani off-spinner Saeed Ajmal for a six, in the second innings in the 3rd Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Jayawardene scored 46 runs in that innings.

His team-mate Kumar Sangakkara is just 348 runs short of this landmark.

The Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is the first in the list with 15921 runs.
