Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is now at the second spot in the list of most number of dismissals (catches and stumpings) by a wicket-keeper in Twenty20 cricket: 124.
Captaining Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing Champions League T20 tournament, Dhoni went past Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara when he completed the catch to dismiss Craig Simmons off fast bowler Ashish Nehra’ bowling in the match against Perth Scorchers at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore, on September 27.
The Super Kings won the match quite comfortably at the end after posting only 155 on the board, thanks to off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who picked up 3/20 in his 4 overs to restrict the Big Bash League team to 142.
With 151 dismissals, Pakistan’s Kamran Akmal is at the top spot. The only other Indian wicket-keeper in the list is Tamil Nadu’s Dinesh Karthik. Given below is the top 10 list:
