Here is a list of players who have played the most number of first-class matches in their career. England’s Wilfred Rhodes, who represented sides like Yorkshire and Maharaja of Patiala’s XI, is at the top with 1110 matches in his career. Rhodes is followed by Kent’s Frank Woolley and Gloucestershire’s William Gilbert Grace, with 978 and 870 FC matches respectively.
With the amount of cricket being played these days, the travelling involved, and the fitness expectations, modern day cricketers don’t stand a chance of getting anywhere close to these players.
