Suggestions to improve EA Cricket's next edition

Everyone is pretty excited about the impending release of FIFA 14, and some people about PES 14. But there is one more game by EA which has the potential to become a very good game, but just needs a modern touch. The game is EA Cricket. The game can be turned into a best seller with some major improvements. Here are some suggestions for the same.

1. Player Impact Engine – EA introduced this feature in FIFA 12 and perfected it to some extent in FIFA 13. This can come into effect when two fielders collide while catching, or if the batsmen collide with the bowler while running. And EA can try to modify this in some way so that sledging and on-field spats take place.

2. Be a Player mode- It is one of the best features in FIFA 13, and can can be implemented in EA Cricket as well. You will work your way up in your country’s domestic league and have the option to play in the KFC Big Bash, IPL, and other leagues around the world. The player should also be able to have some contact with bookies just to make it more interesting. This game mode should allow the player to play in the U-21 World Cup if he performs well enough in the local leagues, and eventually represent his country.

3. Replay famous victories – Previous editions of EA cricket already had this option, but they should include exciting matches from all the leagues around the world. You should even have the option to replay some classic knocks like Chris Gayle‘s 175*, Miller’s 100 and many more.

4. Improvement in graphics – EA Cricket’s graphics have always been very poor and unattractive, to say the least. There needs to be a major improvement. FIFA 13 had awesome graphics, and so the same should be done for EA Cricket in order to make it feel realistic.

5. Licensed teams and players – Every player and team around the world should be licensed, as should the stadiums, so that it can be an immersive experience.

6. Realistic celebrations – If a bowler takes a wicket or a batsman wins a match for his team or a team wins any trophy, the players should be shown celebrating like their real-life counterparts. It would be nice to see some Gangnam Style on field!

7. Improved commentary – Commentators should not just keep repeating the same thing over and over again. There should be more variety of commentary provided in the game according to various situations.

8. Player abilities and ratings - Each players should have unique abilities such as ‘mystery spinner’, ‘death-over specialist’, etc, and should have a “overall rating” as in FIFA and PES.

These were my suggestions for the game. Just hope that EA eventually releases a cricket game with all these and some other improvements. Please add any suggestion you feel will help improve the experience of EA Cricket.
