The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced a 17 member squad for the upcoming Asia Cup scheduled to commence on August 30. The continental event is returning to the ODI format after five years with Pakistan and Sri Lanka as its hosts. Pacer Jasprit Bumrah, batsmen KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer mark a return to the Indian side after a long time away due to injuries. While Bumrah has made a comeback already and has been leading team India in the on-going Ireland series, KL Rahul has a niggle, ANI reported citing BCCI Chief selector Ajit Agarkar. Meanwhile, Iyer has been declared completely fit. Interestingly, 20-year-old left-hand batsman, Tilak Varma received his maiden call for India in the ODI format.
