The cricketing dream..

[Have been dreaming of being a cricketer since childhood, still trying to be one! Hope some of you would be able to connect!]

I had a dream, and it was sweet..The match was on, and so was the heat..

All padded up, I went out to bat..

On Eden Garden’s green grassy mat..

“10 Kartik”, was what my jersey read..Tears of happiness, I was about to shed..

But had to retain my focus, when I reached the pitch..The concentration was back; the nervousness: I ditched..

In came Dale W. Steyn, he had a string in his stride..But I had the faith in me, thus held the bat with utmost pride..

What will happen next, will be a part of some other story..

But it will take a lot, even to reach this stage of glory..

For cricket was my love, for cricket is my love..And one day, I dream, I’ll earn a place for my wrist in that glove..‘Cos I had a dream, and it was sweet…
