2nd wicket- 229 by Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers vs Gujarat Lions at Bangalore, 2016

This was Match-44 of IPL 2016 and Royal Challengers Bangalore were up against Gujarat Lions at Bangalore. RCB were in a tough situation with 4 wins and 6 losses from their previous 10 games. Gujarat Lions, on the other hand, needed just one more win cement their place in the playoffs.
Gujarat Lions won the toss and Suresh Raina put RCB into bat first. Gujarat Lions got an early breakthrough thanks to Dhawal Kulkarni who bowled Chris Gayle for 6. However, that wicket became GL's worst nightmare as in came AB de Villiers to join Virat Kohli.
The duo began smashing fours and sixes all around the park and RCB were in a commanding position. However, the best of both players came during the final five overs as they added 112 runs from it.
De Villiers was the aggressor from the start but Kohli joined the party during the death overs. The duo added 229 for the second wicket which bettered their own record of 215 against Mumbai Indians in 2015 for the highest partnership in IPL and T20 history.
Kohli ended with 108 from 58 deliveries while ABD ended with 129 from 52 deliveries and RCB added 248/3 in their 20 overs.
In reply, Gujarat Lions were skittled out for 104 thanks to some sensational bowling by Chris Jordan, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Sachin Baby. RCB won the match by 144 runs which at the time, was also the record for the largest margin of victory in an IPL match.
