Mumbai Indians batted first and posted 178/3 on the board thanks to fifties from Lendl Simmons and Mike Hussey and a quick-fire 40 from skipper Rohit Sharma.

In reply, Rajasthan Royals were struggling as apart from Karun Nair, none of their middle-order batsmen ticked. RR were tottering at 75/7 when James Faulkner came in to join Brad Hodge at the crease.

The Australian duo batted well and added 69 runs from 41 balls for the 8th wicket. Their partnership came to an end when Hodge was dismissed by Krishmar Santokie for 41. RR eventually fell 25 runs short of the target.

Hodge and Faulkner's 69-run stand remains to be the highest 8th wicket partnership in IPL history.
