ICC World Twenty20 India 2016: Semi-Final: West Indies v India
Virat Kohli

Scoring one century in the T20I format is a big achievement as a lot of modern-day greats are yet to reach the three-figure mark in the format. But, Colin Munro alone has managed to score not one, not two, but three T20I centuries in his brief career.

He has been a revelation at the top of the order ever since he was asked to open for the Blackcaps. Munro is someone who walks into any T20 team with ease and the World XI should have him at the top of the order.

Opening the batting with Munro should be Indian batsman Virat Kohli, who can also be given the captaincy reigns. Though Kohli has opened for India in T20I cricket just once, he is a regular at the top of the order for his IPL side Royal Challengers Bangalore and has tasted a lot of success as an opening batsman for the franchise.

He will also be the perfect foil for Munro as Kohli can anchor the innings allowing Munro to go after the bowlers and can accelerate when needed.

Other players considered: Chris Lynn, Alex Hales, Kane Williamson
