The Virat Kohli Dilemma before the World Cup.

The Virat Kohli ! In or out ?

Will Kohli play ?? Who will he replace then?? What if he doesnt get a pivotal role like all his mature performances?? What if he does not deliver in the lower middle order? Will the memory of the brisk scoring Raina, Pathan haunt us at that time? What if??

As the World Cup looms closer, Dhoni must be having what he prefers to call as “sweet headaches”. The first two warm up matches have increased the debate ” Who will play in the final XI??” Will Kohli replace someone in the team or be a humble 12th man on the bench applauding his experienced teammates taking the limelight??

The spots open for Virat Kohli to play are the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th positions of the batting lineup. So he has to battle the likes of Yuvraj, Dhoni, Raina, Pathan respectively for these spots. Dhoni, Raina, Pathan have proved their mettle in the warm up matches by scoring briskly when needed ( I am NOT suggesting that Virat Kohli performed poorly in the matches). Will Kohli step up on the gas when needed??

There are some factors that play in Kohli’s favour. His fielding and amazing fitness. But being unable bowl part-time spin, he might be neglected in order to include, the liks of Raina, Pathan or Yuvraj.

Rotation might be a possible answer for these questions. But if we continue our winning ways, Dhoni would not prefer to change the winning combination. So what happens to the abundant talent of Kohli then?? Will he be mature enough to take it?

There are certainly no answers to these questions as of now. But surely, time will answer all of them.
