The World Cup fever is back

The World Cup fever is back and it’s in India, the land which worships cricket religiously. Every Indian breathes and lives for the sport which he is crazy about. Humdingers, twists in the tail etc. are all back with the World Cup coming to the subcontinent. The teams are gearing up for the mega event. The side which holds its nerves the best will emerge victorious. Its been 15 years since the subcontinent last featured the World Cup. And what a pleasant coincidence it is that legendary veterans Sachin Tendulkar and Muralidharan, who will probably retire after the tournament, will take their bows on home soil.

Cricket crazy fans of the subcontinent

Expectations are high from spectators with teams big performers like Australia, South Africa, India and England firmly in contention considering their recent run of form. These teams are looking well prepared this time it’s going to be a close call as to who is going to win the Cup. India will do well to take advantage of their home conditions as talismans like Sehwag have expressed confidence that they would perform better in front of the home crowd.

The last three editions have been won by Australia convincingly. Yet it would be foolish to write the Asian teams out as the last three losing finalists have been Asian teams.

With fingers are crossed, we are waiting eagerly for this fever. The Indian subcontinent is ready to feature this event again. May the best team win!
