1. Avishka Fernando
If there was any silver lining for the future in the Sri Lankan campaign, it was the emergence of Avishka Fernando. Avishka showed hope for Sri Lankan cricket and its future.
He grabbed everyone's attention in his debut World Cup match against England. He was unlucky as he was not able to complete his half century in that match. He then scored a century against West Indies that made the world stand up and take notice. Sri Lanka can now invest in his development. Avishka scored with an average of 50 and a strike rate of about 105 in the World Cup which is pretty impressive for a youngster playing his first World Cup.
He is an attacking player who could work wonders in IPL if given proper chance. He could give an explosive start to his team with his gutsy cricket.
