Chepauk Super Gillies’ batsman S Vasanth Saravanan is yet another example of a veteran doing well in the so-called youngsters game. Vasanth, who is turning 38 in three days’ time, is one of the stars of the tournament.
Being a part of the 1998 under-19 World Cup, alongside Virender Sehwag, Mohammad Kaif and Harbhajan Singh, Saravanan is someone who is very experienced in this format. He was a part of the Indian Cricket League and has played a lot of matches.
He carried his experience into the TNPL and set the stage on fire as he scored 268 runs in 9 innings at an average of 39 and a strike-rate of over 119.
