Moreover, Eden Gardens is also notable for being the second-largest cricket stadium in India with a capacity of 68,000 fans. The first game played at Eden Gardens was the second test match of a three-test-match series between India and England from January 5, 1934, to January 8, 1934. Likewise, the stadium also saw its first ODI (One Day International) match in the form of India vs Pakistan on February 18, 1987. The stadium also hosted its first-ever IPL game in the form of the Kolkata Knight Riders vs the Deccan Chargers on April 20, 2008. Besides the IPL, Eden Gardens hosted its first international T20 match in the form of India vs England on October 29, 2011.
