Things are changing for the better in Women's Cricket

#4 Debbie Hockley (New Zealand, 1979-2000)

Debbie Hockley
Debbie Hockley was one of the greatest New Zealand cricketers

Hockley still remains one of the greatest New Zealand cricketers, almost 18 years after her retirement. Hockley averaged over 52 in Tests and close to 42 in ODIs, a prolific record for a batter whose career spanned for over 20 years.

She was the first player to reach the 4000 ODI run mark and the first to feature in 100 ODIs as well. She has the most number of World Cup outings to her credit. The Player of the Match in the 1997 World Cup Final, Hockley was instrumental in helping the Kiwis lift the World Cup in 2000, wherein they defeated the Australia in the summit clash.
