#8 India vs England - 2012 Test
Not many times have India been outplayed in a Test match in their own territory in familiar conditions. But the visiting English team managed to do just that in order to take the upper hand in the Test series in 2012 which they eventually went on to win.
James Anderson who had been criticised prior to the series for having a moderate record in the subcontinent, found reverse swing to rattle the Indian batting lineup as they posted a modest 316 in the first innings. The English batsmen then put up a strong performance in reply led by skipper Alastair Cook who made a monumental 190 to bat the hosts out of the contest.
He was well supported by the likes of Nick Compton, Jonathan Trott and Kevin Pietersen as England took a lead of 207. Facing a daunting task, India succumbed under pressure yet again to be bowled out for 247 with Anderson and Steven Finn picking up three wickets each. A target of 41 was always going to be a walk in the park for any side as England won by seven wickets.
