#3 James Anderson (81 runs)

This is the most recent innings in this countdown. India were on a tour to England in July 2014 when James Anderson produced an unexpected knock of 81 runs.
India had played well in the first innings and posted a handsome total of 457 runs. England came in to bat and were helped immensely with a brilliant 154 run knock from Joe Root. However, Anderson, who scored 81 runs off 130 balls after coming in to bat at number 11, stole the show. His innings included 17 fours and many proper cricketing shots which even top-order batsmen would be proud of.
The Indian bowlers were frustrated by the English speedster but eventually, Bhuvneshwar Kumar got him out with a catch from Shikhar Dhawan.
The match ended in a draw but James Anderson was named the player of the match for his 81-run knock and 4 wickets in the match.
