ICC Cricket World Cup- 0
ICC Champions Trophy- 1, 2004
ICC World Twenty20- 2, 2012, 2016
Even though they've been on a downward spiral for a better part of the past 25 years, the West Indies have always found a way to bring their 'A' game when it matters the most.
While they missed out on last year's Champions Trophy, the West Indians did win it way back in 2004 under the leadership of Brian Lara. And then Twenty 20 arrived-- a format in unison with the Caribbean brand of cricket; colourful, fast, and 'sexy'.
There is one common denominator that connects all three title-winning heist of the Windies. On all three occasions, the Windies found a match-winner when they were dead and buried. It was Courtney Browne (35) and Ian Bradshaw's (34) partnership in 2004 that took them home against England after they had been reduced to 6-114 while chasing 218.
The 2012 WT20 final saw Marlon Samuels (56-ball-78) calculated assault against Sri Lanka, and off-course Carlos Brathwaite's four consecutive sixes in the last over, when the Windies required 19, all the three finals have given cricket fans an edge-of-a-seat thriller, reminiscent of their glory days.
