#2 Rohit Sharma
Since his establishment as an opener in 2013, Rohit Sharma's career graph has raised the bar every year. Nicknamed as the 'hit-man' he destroys the opposition with his elegant stroke play.
He currently holds the record for the second most sixes hit by an Indian in ODIs after MS Dhoni, with 202 sixes, and is sixth on the all-time list. This year alone, he has hit the most number of sixes with 39 of them to his name.
In 2018, he began by scoring a brilliant 115 against South Africa and followed it up with a scintillating knock of 137 against England. Although these were his only notable contributions in both the series, he showcased his consistency in the Asia Cup with 317 runs at an average of 105.66 and finishing second behind his fellow opener Dhawan on the top run scorers list.
In the home series against West Indies, Sharma continued his blistering form scoring 389 runs at an average of 129.66 with a high score of 162.
Since 2013, this is the third time that Rohit has scored over 1000 runs in a calendar year. His record in 2018 stands out with 1030 runs at an average of 73.57 and strike rate of 100.09 including five centuries and three fifties.
