Taking on the Gujarat Lions in the first playoff encounter in 2016, AB de Villiers was the architect of a chase which saw RCB through to the final.

Chasing 159 for victory, RCB were in big trouble as their top order crumbled. At one stage, it looked like they would be bowled out for a score of below 100. However, it was once again, that man - AB de Villiers, who bailed them out of trouble.

He put on a 91 run partnership along with Pawan Negi for the 7th wicket to see RCB through to their third final in IPL history. He played some sensible cricket and attacked the opposition bowlers when required, playing some delectable shots along the way.

This was probably one of the best knocks under pressure from the South African legend.
